Meeting old friends

Our container finally arrived!! We have been giving Jared his toys a few at a time so that he isn't completely overwhelmed.
We gave him his big bear on the weekend and as you can see it was a reunion of note lol!!!
He absolutely loves bears, so he couldn't believe his eyes when he saw this big bear. If he sees toys anywhere and there is a bear in amongst them that is the first thing he grabs. It is quite fitting since his bedroom theme in South Africa was bears.

Jared's very first haircut

So, we finally gave in and took Jared for his first ever haircut on Friday. His hair was really long in parts (as you can see in my blackmail photos :o) and we just decided that it was time to let a little bit more of the baby go.

Jared was so good. He got to sit in a bright pink Jeep - the yellow ones were too big. He just sat there pushing buttons and chatting up a storm. She even used the clippers on his ears and neck and he never said a word. She showed them to him, he touched them and checked them out and that was it. The only thing that he didn't seem to enjoy was the feeling of the cut hair on his face, I think it tickled him.
I of course collected all his hair in a tupperware as only a mother would lol!!!
Blackmail photo taken the day before.

Chasing bubbles

Jared is crazy about bubbles. We blow them in the bath using the soap and decided to get some real bubbles to see what he thought about those. We played in the garden with them and he had a ball. Unfortunately I only managed to get 1 decent photo and some video.

Blowing Raspberries

Jared loves blowing raspberries and up until yesterday I hadn't managed to get any decent photos of him doing it.

We went up to Lake Moraine yesterday and then stopped off and had lunch at Banff. The photos and videos of Jared were taken in the car on the way home.

The little streamy river is still one of my favourite things about Canada so far. They are all over the place and they are so beautiful.

Lake Moraine was pretty but not as gorgeous as Lake Louise. There was a little boy climbing on some logs at the lake and he lost his footing and fell. Jared laughed until I am sure his tummy ached. The little guy's mom couldn't help herself either and laughed when she saw how Jared was laughing. The poor child who fell didn't find it too funny though :o)

Lake Moreine

My favourite. A little stream we stopped for on the roadside.

Saturday Fun

We spent most of the day out shopping today. We finally saw a lounge suite that we loved and decided to buy it only to find that it is out of stock and only due in the next 4 to 6 weeks. We decided that we wanted it anyway, so we are happy to wait for it :o)
After Jareds afternoon nap we went across the road to play in the field for a while. He loves running around there and especially loves going up the hill. He isn't too eager to come down on his own since he now knows that he usually ends up head over heels in a speed wobble, so he has worked out how to come down on his bum, or else he just waits to grab your hand and get a hand down lol!!!
Here are some photos that I managed to take. He is getting tougher and tougher to photograph because he is never in 1 place for very long. Out of interest, these pics were taken at 6:40pm - as you can see we are still enjoying gorgeous weather (mostly!) and sunshine, although I do think autumn is fast approaching...

And one of us just in case you have forgotten what we look like ;o)
