Family Day

Monday was a public holiday here. It was Family Day. We have had a complete turnaround in weather since my last post with temps of up to 10 degrees. Monday was a lovely day too so we decided to go to the zoo.

We hadn't been in a while with Jared (2 months or so) so it was really nice to get there again. It is amazing what a difference 2 months makes in a little persons development though. He walked all over holding our hand. He could identify most of the animals by name as well as provide some of the sounds. He would get so excited when he saw an animal that he would shout it's name on the top of his voice over and over again to anyone who would listen. At the elephant enclosure one of the elephants trumpeted and he piped up with "bless you". We (and the people around us) found that very funny.

Hannes got some gorgeous shots of one of the tigers which I though I would share. I added one of Jared just because he is so cute :o)

Snow fun

I know it's been a long time :o)

We have had some real winter weather since Friday which means we've had lots of snow too.

We spent some time in the backyard yesterday afternoon playing on the slide and swing. Jared loves the slide snow and all.

Try to sit on the swing. The bottom isn't stable so he has to hold on and keep his balance.
