It took all of 5 minutes for me to lose Joel...

In my lounge!!!! I was busy in the kitchen and stuck my head over the couch to see why Joel was so quiet and he was GONE!!! I stepped around (ok ran around) and luckily saw this peeking out…







Ok, I'll come out now

Fine!! Then I'll do it myself.

You really are just going to sit there with that camera and not help me aren't you!!!

Joel decided to wear his dinner

Joel decided that it wasn't enough to just eat his dinner, he had to fling it around a bit too. He had so much fun mushing it up between his fingers and rubbing it all over his face and hair. The clean up was quite a challenge. We ended up having to undress him over the kitchen sink and I ran upstairs with him and put him in an empty bath with some toys until we were organised and ready for bathtime. He was happy as a lark. Even after his bath and a good scrubbing he still smelled a bit like bolognese. It was worth it though just to see this happy little face.

If you look carefully at his bottom gum in this photo you can see his 2 little teeth peeking through.

Catch up photos

Hi all. I know I'm very far behind. I'm not even going to try and catch up on the backlog. I'm just going to pretend it never happened and start with the recent stuff.

Hennie, these ones are for you especially. Your shortest little friend got his bike riding sorted out in May and since then has been zooming all over the neigbourhood. We've had lots of falls already but that hasn't stopped him from taking the corners on 2 wheels and going as fast as his little legs can peddle. He really loves riding his bike.

Just a little update. Joel cut his first tooth the day he turned 8 months old on the 10th of August. He cut his second one today 6 days later AND the big news is that he started to crawl this afternoon. He's been threatening for a month or so but just didn't get it right and then he started walking on the furniture and we were concerned that he might try to skip the crawling but today he just crawled like he'd been doing it secretly all along. He is still such a happy baby and Jared is still wonderful with him. He enjoys playing cars with him on the carpet. I do think with him being mobile now their relationship will get even better because Joel will be even more fun. Jared loves making him giggle and the 2 of them giggling at each other is one of my favorite sounds in the whole world.
